Beware! Corona virus cases are spiking again. This time the virus has been mutated and the new variant, known as the ‘Omicron’, has been declared as the ‘variant of concern’ by the WHO officials. It was first detected in a sample of wastewater collected in Merced County on 25th November, 2021, one day before WHO gave the variant its Greek-letter designation and raised the alarm on Nov. 26.
This virus is highly transmissible, but here is the good news: It might not cause illness as severe as the Delta variant. In order to limit the scope of a surge, you all need to stay safe.
Get vaccinated, wear masks and follow all the safety rules.
